WILMINGTON -- Police are investigating a pair of Saturday morning shootings that sent three people to the hospital.

In an incident that occurred just before 11 a.m. in the 200 block of South 13th Street, two men got into an altercation with a third man, according to Wilmington police spokeswoman Linda Rawley Thompson.

The third man pulled out a gun and shot the other two men before fleeing on foot.

Thompson said the victims appeared to have non-life threatening injuries.

The second shooting occurred earlier Saturday, just after 1 a.m., in the 600 block of South 13th Street.

Thompson said gunfire was recorded by Shotspotter. When police arrived on the scene, a victim was being put into a car and transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He also appeared to have non-life threatening injures.

Thompson said police have little information on both shootings, and are asking for the public’s help.
