Wilmington shooting injures 19-year-old

WILMINGTON -- A 19-year-old was injured in a Saturday night shooting in Wilmington.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, at about 9 p.m. Saturday, officers received a notification from ShotSpotter, the city's automatic gunfire detection system. Officers responded to the 1000 block of Dock Street, and found the man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

EMS transported the victim to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Wilmington Police Department via 911, at 910-343-3609 or anonymously submit a tip via Text-A-Tip. Send “Tip708” and the information to 274637 (CRIMES).
