WILMINGTON -- A Randolph County man entered pleas of guilty Monday to three counts of felony extortion and three counts of cyberstalking at the New Hanover County Superior Court, according to District Attorney Benjamin David.

Kevin Allen Kerney, 33, posed online as a female modeling scout and solicited photographs in various states of dress and undress for potential modeling jobs. Once he received photos from at least 14 young females across North Carolina, he threatened to distribute the photographs to family and friends if they did not provide photos of an even more revealing nature.

The crimes Kerney was convicted of Monday involved victims from New Hanover county. He has previously been convicted of offenses in Guilford County.

Kerney will serve a minimum of 13 and a maximum of 25 months in prison.
