Police investigate Wilmington fatal shooting

Wilmington police are investigating a homicide after ShotSpotter alerted them to a shooting on N. 30th Street early Friday morning.

Around 6:40 a.m., Wilmington police responded to the 900 block of N. 30th Street in reference to a ShotSpotter alert.

According to a press release from the Wilmington Police Department, officers found a 45-year-old man’s body on the sidewalk. EMS transported him due to a crowd of people forming in the area.

“This case is still under investigation and there is no further information at this time,” WPD wrote in the release.
