It'll be a down and dirty Christmas when this New York stand-up rolls into downtown Wilmington's Dead Crow Comedy Room for a two-night stand next weekend. Called "raw" and "blunt" by Raleigh's News & Observer, “I want people to think I’m funny and as honest as possible,” Jay Oakerson told the paper last year. “It’s what I’ve always admired about Howard Stern. I put him very much on the pedestal … I’m not political. I’m not trying to change anybody’s minds about anything. I’m just doing fun, as much as possible.” He's been on "Conan," "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and had a half-hour special on Comedy Central in addition to hosting numerous podcasts and recording multiple albums. Details: 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Dec. 14-15 at Dead Crow, 265 N. Front St., Wilmington. $18. Most performances are sold out, but a limited number of tickets may be released at the door on performance nights. 910-399-1492 or DeadCrowComedy.com. [CONTRIBUTED PHOTO]
