HS ROUNDUP: Coastal Christian soccer wins in Raleigh

Coastal Christian 5, West Iredell 3

Jackson Snyder's hat trick of goals powered the Centurions to a N.C. Coaches Kickoff Showcase victory in Raleigh.

Sammy Santaniello had the other two goals for undefeated Coastal Christian (5-0). Snyder added an assist while Watson Sloan posted two. Chase Godwin made eight saves.

Next up is the team's last Showcase contest on Saturday against Northwest Guilford at 1 p.m.

New Hanover 1, Leesville Road 1

The Wildcats finished its first matchup in the Showcase with a tie against the Pride in Raleigh.

Landon James scored the tying goal in the second half off a cross by Aiden Payne. Devon Gamble and Bennett Jones combined for four saves.

New Hanover (0-1-2) plays Wakefield on Saturday at 9 a.m. in its final Showcase contest.

West Forsyth 2, Cape Fear Academy 0

The Hurricanes dropped to 2-3 on the season after a setback at the Showcase.

Miles Lindstrom registered six saves for Cape Fear Academy.

Next for the Hurricanes is a home game against Ashley on Monday.
