Wilmington-area road closures

Hurricane Isaias departed the Wilmington-area during Tuesday’s early hours, but lingering effects of the storm remain.

Below is a list of local road closures due to Isaias, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation’s website as of 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Brunswick County

NC-179 near Goose Creed Road in both directions. The road is impassable.

SR-1508 (Albright Road) near Brown Road in both directions. The road is impassable.

NC-904 near Culpepper road in both directions. The road is closed.

New Hanover County

US-421 (Third Street) near Front Street in both directions. Road is impassable.

US-421 (Carolina Beach Rd.) near Myrtle Grove Road from mile marker 10.1-10.3 heading north. One lane is closed with a tree in the road.

SR-1573 (Dow Road) near Sumter Road in from mile marker 1.4-1.1 in both directions. Trees and power lines are down blocking the roads.

SR-1336 (Sidbury Road) near Island Creek Drive heading east. Tree is down blocking one lane.

US-117 near I-40 from mile marker 9.1-9.7 heading north. The ramp is closed with a tree down.

SR-1576 (River Road) in both directions. Power line is down on the roadway.

SR-1301 (Princess Place Drive) from mile marker 1-1.1 in both directions. Tree and power lines are down blocking the road.

NC-133 (Castle Hayne Road) near Marathon Avenue in both directions. Downed tree across the road.

NC-133 near I-140 heading south. Tree is leaning in to lane.

SR-2061 (Kenningston Street) near Dullage Drive in both directions. Tree is blocking the road.

SR-2061 (Kenningston Street) near Lord Elkins Road in both directions. Tree is blocking the road.

SR-2015 (Dickens Drive) near Lord Tennyson Road in both directions. Downed trees make the road impassable.
