A Frankfort race relations group will not be intimidated or stand idly by after the governor was hanged in effigy last week.
That is the message being sent by Focus On Race Relations: Frankfort (FORR), which has planned a press conference titled “Lynching Our Governor in Effigy — Symptoms of a Sickness Greater Than COVID-19” at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday on the back lawn of the Capitol.
The victims lately ,have family that ask for peace. I hear or read reports and see these family members on TV saying they want peace. Yet the protesters don’t respect the victims family’s and commit yet more violent acts , on top of the first violent act that took the victims life -destroying innocent people’s property , and endangering others. Two wrongs don’t make a right. You punish the first wrong with our judicial system and go on as best we can , in peace.
Vote Trump and the Republicans OUT- that support his racism and humanitarian crimes towards people of color. That will be one giant step in the right direction. Get rid of the white, oligarch supremest politicians like Mitch McConnell. Vote in real people with real values.
It's not clear that it's the peaceful protesters who do the destruction. It's useful to think of it this way: there are thousands of people peacefully protesting for an end to police brutality and impunity, and then there are many fewer looters and bad actors that take advantage of the protests to cause damage and destruction.
However, the Republican party, especially President Trump and his symbiotic propaganda machine, Fox News, would love us all to believe the narrative that these protesters are violent or out of control. It's a very convenient story for those whose only tool is tear gas and bullets. Don't you buy it, too.
And where are the white Ky protestors from the other day with big bellies , gun toting , effigy hanging against government/ Governor that were trespassing onto the Governors Mansion porch now?? You’d think they’d be in DC protesting Trumps government “ dominating” with military teargas, rubber bullets ,and shoving the peaceful protestors so Trump could get a photo shop at a church. I thought this Ky protesting bunch “ 3 percenters” didn’t like Government control ?
They scared? Scared of tear gas and bullets if the other guy has them?
I could not be prouder or more admiring of Mr. Powe and Focus on Race Relations. Thank you in advance to all the people participating in tomorrow's press conference to remind us all that hate is not a family or a Frankfort value.
