Participants of the South Frankfort Food Share received the boons of their purchase, fresh fruits and vegetables made by local farmers, during the Food Share on Tuesday evening at Second Street School.

The first South Frankfort Food Share was last September, according to Lisa Munniksma, community engagement coordinator of the Franklin County Farmers Market. She said the program was inspired by New Roots' Fresh Stop Markets based in Louisville. Munniksma used to volunteer with New Roots before working at the Farmers Market.
