Two officers with the state Attorney General's office — one of whom is from Austin — and a Harris County sheriff’s deputy were shot in the line of duty in northeastern Harris County on Tuesday afternoon, according to the AG's office.

Capt. Wes Hensley and Sgt. Mark Rychen from the AG office's fugitive apprehension unit were shot and wounded while serving an arrest warrant with the deputy, according to a statement from the office. All three were hospitalized. The deputy's name has not been released.

"Thankfully, all of the injured law enforcement officers appear to be recovering well this evening," Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement.

It was not immediately clear which of the two AG officers is from Austin. The Austin agent was on a week-long assignment in Houston, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The suspected shooter, Daniel Trevino, fatally shot himself after a five-hour standoff with authorities, KHOU-TV reported at 6:30 p.m. He had barricaded himself inside a Harris County house, the TV news station said.

The Harris County deputy was shot in the hand and may lose a finger. One AG officer was shot in the cheek, torso and ankle, and the other was shot in the foot, according to KHOU-TV.
