An electric minibike tour company's building was damaged Monday night in a fire in downtown Austin.

The incident happened on Walsh Street, between Sixth and Fifth streets. Firefighters extinguished the fire at YourBikerGang.com soon after the building's security system alerted employees around 9 p.m., said Sweet John Muehlbauer, the company's director of experience.

The structure is still standing, and Muehlbauer said he does not have estimates about the damage to the structure or its contents.

The business has been there for two years. The company stores its bikes in two different buildings, so they expect to be able to continue operations, Muehlbauer said. No employees or customers were inside at the time.

"We're very thankful no one was hurt, and we're thankful for the Austin Fire Department for being so quick on the scene," Muehlbauer said. "It's always a shock when you see something happen like this."
