OVERNIGHT: 3 hospitalized after North Austin crash, medics say

Three women were hospitalized early Friday after a crash in North Austin on Interstate 35, Austin-Travis County EMS medics said.

Medics responded to the northbound lanes of the 8900 block of the highway around 1:41 a.m. The crash involved two vehicles, medics said.

One woman in her 20s was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with potentially serious injuries, medics said.

The other two women, one with potentially life-threatening injuries, were taken to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, medics said.

Northbound traffic on I-35 was shut down for about four hours. The road was reopened around 6:11 a.m., Texas Department of Transportation officials said.
