Austin police are asking for the public’s help to find a man who threatened to kill a woman and her child as he tried to rob them at an H-E-B in South Austin.

The robbery happened around 10:30 a.m. Oct. 7 in the parking lot of the H-E-B on William Cannon Drive and Brodie Lane, according to a statement from Austin police. Video surveillance of the man was captured at the grocery store.

Police described the man as likely in his 20s or 30s with a teardrop tattoo under his left eye. He approached the woman and young child and threatened to kill them if the mother did not give him all of her money, police said.

He did not display a weapon, and the woman and child were able to run back to the store for help, police said.

Investigators think the man lives near Brodie Lane and William Cannon Drive, police said.
