Child critical after being hit by vehicle in N. Austin

A child suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in North Austin, EMS officials said Saturday night.

The incident happened shortly before 8 p.m. in the 9400 block of Grouse Meadow Lane off W. Rundberg Lane near Quail Creek Park. The child was taken to Dell Children's Medical Center with critical injuries, Austin-Travis County EMS reported.

Officials said to expect road closures in the area.
