Oklahoma City Blue top Austin Spurs

The Austin Spurs fell for the second game in a row, losing to the Oklahoma City Blue 125-116 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Tuesday.

Austin had won six games in a row before dropping a pair to fall to 15-11. Oklahoma City improved to 12-16.

Luka Samanic, on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, led Austin with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Quinndary Weatherspoon had 21 points and six assists.

DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell led all scorers with 33 points. He also had seven rebounds and went 3 for 5 from 3-point range for the Blue.

Abdul Gaddy added 23 points and 10 assists for Oklahoma City. Devon Hall also had 23 points in the win. Kevin Hervey notched a double-double, scoring 14 points to go with 10 boards.

Despite scoring 41 points in the first quarter, the Spurs found themselves trailing by halftime. The Blue took the lead in the second quarter by scoring 46 points. Oklahoma City led 78-71 at the break.

The Blue increased its lead after the third quarter and held off the Spurs the rest of the way.

Austin had six players score in double figures. Chimezie Metu had 18 points and seven rebounds. Keldon Johnson added 15 points. Drew Eubanks chipped in 14 while Kenny Williams scored 11.
