Three Salem-Keizer students art to be featured in gambling awareness calendar
The Oregon Health Authority’s annual Problem Gambling Awareness calendar will feature artwork by three Salem-Keizer Public School 7th graders in 2020.
Of the hundreds of middle school students who participated in the statewide art contest — held annually in March for Problem Gambling Awareness Month — 12 were chosen to be featured in the 2020 calendar.
Walea Tombleson, of Claggett Creek Middle School, earned the top prize and her art will be featured on the cover of the calendar.
It will also feature art by Kelsey Schauer, of Whiteaker Middle School, and McKenna Morales, of Waldo Middle School.
The calendar is expected to print and distribute fall 2019.
