Here are five things to do in the Salem area this weekend:

22nd Annual World Beat Festival

Experience world customs, traditions, ethnic foods, crafts, demonstrations, children's activities, parades and dragon boat racing. You can also celebrate the featured culture, India, and kick off World Beat with live music, food and fire dancing at the Riverfront Park Amphitheater on Friday.

When: 5 to 10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 28-30

Location: Riverfront Park, 200 Water St. NE

Cost: $5 per person, free for ages 14 and younger on Saturday and Sunday, Friday admission is by donation.

Mini Concert Series

All proceeds from this night of live music from Wild Ire, No Aloha, Mark Lemhouse and The Arbor go toward the Move the IKE On campaign.

The Super Hero Carnival will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at Porter-Boone Park.

A free, fun-filled afternoon of old-fashioned carnival games with a super-hero theme, prizes for kids and roaming costumed heroes.

When: 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 29

Unloaded Comedy — Laugh Yourself Clean is a recovery-based stand-up comedy showcase.
