Where Salem-area families can find free grab-and-go kids meals during school shutdown

Selected area schools will act as free meal pick-up points on weekdays, to ensure that food-insecure families don't suffer a lack of nutrition options during the school shutdown through March 31.

UPDATE: 4:30 p.m. Sunday 

North Marion County School District announced schools will be closed from March 16 through April 1.

The school district will offer food delivery during school closures. Buses will run two routes Monday through Friday for the first two weeks to deliver a combined sack breakfast and lunch. 

  • Route A will begin at Century Meadows from 10 to 10:15 a.m., then Aurora Park from 10:30 to 10:45 a.m., then Sherwood from 11  to 11:15 a.m., and Olds from 11:30 to 11:45 a.m.  
  • Route B will begin at Chateau from 10 - 10:15 a.m., then Donald Skate Park from 10:30 to 10:45 a.m., then Rivenes Park from 11 to 11:15 a.m.

Food is available at no cost to children 18 and under. No adult meals are available and seconds will not be provided. Children must be present at the pick-up site to receive meals.

Salem-Keizer Public Schools

SKPS is offering breakfast and lunch grab and go bags, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 36 locations.

Meals are available to any child 18 and under.

Woodburn School District

Grab-and-go meals will be available for Woodburn residents between the ages of 1 and 18. Meals will be available at designated locations from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Silver Falls School District

Sack lunches will be provided in a drive-through model to all children under the age of 18, at no cost to families, at the following school sites between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Dallas School District

No cost, grab-and-go lunches are to anyone age 18 or younger from 12 until 12:30 p.m. each weekday through March 31.

Central School District

Grab-and-go meals will be available from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at all sites. Children under the age of 18 must be present to receive the meals. During this time frame students will receive enough food for breakfast and lunch.
