Projects: Cordon Road water main project; subdivision project

Description: A pair of related projects have been green-lit along Cordon Road, centering on the former site of PictSweet Mushroom Farms.

The site has been approved by the city planning commission for a Planned Unit Development and Subdivision consisting of 659 single-family units and 36 multi-family residential units, city officials told the Statesman Journal.

Prior to the construction of the subdivision, permits have been issued for construction of approximately 10,000 feet of 24-inch water main along Cordon Road from Auburn Road NE to Gaffin Road SE. The new water main is being constructed to serve the proposed development, city officials said.

The water main project is scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 4, and continue through April 2020.

PictSweet Mushroom Farms closed in 2001 and the growing rooms on the site were demolished shortly thereafter, according to Statesman Journal archives.
