Sweet! Corn festival returns to Aumsville

Statesman Journal
Andrew Lucke bags corn Saturday at Porter Boone Park during the Aumsville Corn Festival.

An estimated 23 tons of corn on the cob disappeared from Aumsville on Saturday.

What happened to it? It got shucked and boiled and buttered and popped into the mouths of those who attended the 47th annual Aumsville Corn Festival at Porter Boone Park.

(Some ears got spirited away in sacks to be enjoyed later.)

Gusty winds delayed the opening of the park for about 45 minutes Saturday morning, but they did not stop the festival, which was complete with a parade, a skate competition, games, music and prizes.

See for yourself.
