The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Marion and Linn counties on Monday.

A tornado warning was issued for parts of Marion and Linn counties Monday after a funnel cloud reportedly touched down near Jefferson.

National Weather Service officials received a report of a funnel cloud touching down from a firefighter in Jefferson, said Matthew Cullen, a meteorologist with NWS Portland.

The storm moved eastbound toward Scio, Cullen said. A photo tweeted out by NWS Portland also included warnings for the communities of Marion, Stayton and Sublimity.

No damage was reported Monday.

NWS issued the tornado warning at 3:37 p.m., and the warning expired just before 4 p.m.

Afterward, NWS officials tweeted, "The storm which produced the tornado has weakened and we don't think it will produce another tornado."

Jefferson resident Ashley Brynn Obersinner shot video of an apparent funnel cloud near her home at about 4:20 p.m.

Separately, what appeared to be a funnel cloud was filmed north of Forest Grove, about 20 miles west of Portland.

The footage, posted to social media Monday afternoon by Aaron Lohrer, showed a cloud in rotation near his home on NW Kemper Road.

"It was a pretty crazy experience," Lohrer told the Statesman Journal. He said he has seen a funnel cloud in the past, but nothing like what he saw Monday. He estimated the cloud was about 300 yards from his house.

NWS issued a local storm report Monday saying a funnel cloud had been reported near Forest Grove.

On Sunday, a tornado in North Portland caused moderate damage, overturning three semi-truck trailers, according to NWS.
