Uprooting Racism: Knowledge, Compassion, Justice, Peace

The Salem Fellowship of Reconciliation will host a program titled, “Uprooting Racism: Knowledge, Compassion, Justice, Peace” at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27 at the Salem Friends Meeting House, located at 490 19th St. NE.

Laurie Childers will lead the presentation and discussion, which will focus on Americans examining the historical inequalities between races. Childers wants everyone to walk in a peaceful path together by opening one's mind and heart and learning about the systems that have created a modern racial wealth gap, mass incarceration and compassion.

Childers has served as chair of the Fellowship of Reconciliation’s National Council as well as the chair of Oregon’s chapter. A potluck meal will follow the presentation and everyone is welcome to attend. For more information contact Bruce Stock at 503-371-6109 or by email at brucerstock@gmail.com.
