South Salem, Silverton win 1st place, West Salem 3rd at OSAA Choir State 2019 competitions

Choirs from South Salem and Silverton won first place this week in state high school competitions.

In three days of performance at the LaSells Stewart Center at Oregon State University, dozens of school choirs performed in five classifications.

South Salem tied with West Linn for first place in the 6A competition. West Salem finished third and Sprague finished fourth.

Sllverton won the 5A competition, receiving scores better than 90 from all three judges.

Cascade finished third in the 4A competition, behind winning LaGrande and second-place McLoughlin.

In the 3A/2A/1A category, Salem Academy finished third behind first-place Westside Christian and second-place Nyssa.
