Highland Elementary School classes canceled Wednesday, shelter in place lifted

The shelter in place order has been lifted near the school. A statement from the district states classes remain canceled Wednesday but staff can report as they are able.

Highland Elementary School will be closed Wednesday after a late shooting near the school Tuesday, according to a social media post from Salem Keizer Public Schools. 

The campus also will be closed to employees. The school's personnel office will follow up with staff about next steps.
