Deputies seek help identifying car suspected in shooting on Lancaster Drive

Update 4:10 p.m. Monday:

Investigators are asking for the public's help locating a vehicle of interest in the shooting, captured by a surveillance camera in the area of Lancaster Drive and Silverton Road NE. 

Anyone who recognizes the car or its occupants should call the Marion County Sheriff's non-emergency number, at 503-588-5032, or Detective Sphoon, at 503-798-8319. 

"If someone recognizes the vehicle or the occupants, reach out to us. We're emphasizing not to try to contact the occupants themselves," Marion County Sgt. Jeremy Landers said. 

The shooting victim was treated for multiple gunshot wounds, has been released from the hospital, and is expected to make a full recovery, the Sheriff's Office said.

At least one person was injured following a shooting near Lancaster Drive and Silverton Road Sunday evening.

Deputies responded to a report of gunshots being heard behind the Safeway on Lancaster Drive just before 9:30 p.m., according to officials.

While deputies were on scene investigating, a 16-year-old victim checked into the hospital with non-life threatening injuries from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was interviewed by deputies at the hospital and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Officials ask that anyone with information on the shooting to call the Marion County Sheriff's office at 503-588-5032.

The sheriff's office was assisted by Salem Police.
