SWAT respond to domestic violence situation in Sublimity

A domestic violence situation in Sublimity led to a SWAT response early Saturday morning. 

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 300 block of NE Crest Street around 10:45 p.m. Friday. 

An intoxicated man allegedly struck a 49-year old woman with a liquor bottle.

The man barricaded himself in the house after deputies got the woman out safely, according to Marion County Sheriff's Office officials.

The Sublimity woman was treated and released from an area hospital.

Deputies attempted to get the man to surrender for the next few hours until the sheriff's office SWAT team was called in around 2 a.m. Saturday.

After negotiators tried to convince him to surrender, members of the SWAT Tactical Team entered the residence and took Michael Ducommun, 54, of Sublimity, into custody. 

Ducommun was taken to the hospital for evaluation and will later be taken to the Marion County Jail. He will be charged with Assault III, Assault IV, Resisting Arrest, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
