Wallace Road, Highway 221 reopened north of West Salem following serious crash

A crash involving multiple vehicles has led to the closure of Wallace Road north of West Salem Friday afternoon.

The closure is at milepost 10 on Wallace Road NW, also known as Highway 221, about a half mile south of the intersection Wheatland Road NW, according to Oregon Department of Transportation.

Officials say drivers should avoid the area between Bellevue and Hopewell Roads.

A detour is in place for northbound traffic at Hopewell and Wallace Roads and for southbound traffic at Hopewell Road and Bellevue Hopewell Highway.

Those involved with in the crash sustained serious injuries, according to officials.
