Driver injured in single-car crash on Silverton Road NE near Cordon Road NE

Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday on Silverton Road NE near Cordon Road NE.

Marion County Sheriff's Office deputies responded around 1 p.m to a white Honda Civic that drove off the roadway.

The person was reportedly driving recklessly just before the incident, according to Sgt. Jeremy Landers, a spokesman with the sheriff's office. 

The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, Landers said. There were no other vehicles involved. 

Silverton Road was closed briefly following the incident. 

The driver has not yet been identified. No citations have been issued.
