Woodburn Police arrest two men on separate stolen vehicle cases in two days
Two suspects in stolen vehicle cases were arrested on consecutive days by the Woodburn Police Department.
Jorge Maldonado, 30, was arrested Thursday morning on charges including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, attempting to elude and resisting arrest.
Officers reported seeing a stolen Ford F-250 driving at a high rate of speed through residential areas and tried to stop it about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, but the suspect fled on foot.
In a release, Woodburn Police said they found Maldonado shortly after at Hawley Street and Wilson Street in Woodburn and he resisted arrest and had to be subdued with a taser.
Maldonado had outstanding bench warrants for multiple accounts of interfering with a peace officer, assaulting a public safety officer and resisting arrest.

At 11 a.m. Friday, officers attempted to speak with Rene Ortega, 27, while he was walking along Young Street in Woodburn as he had several charges related to previous stolen vehicle cases and he was a suspect in multiple stolen vehicle cases.
After a brief pursuit, Ortega was subdued at a nearby apartment complex on seven charges of unauthorized use of motor vehicle, reckless driving, theft, escape and probation violation.
Both are lodged at Marion County Jail.
Woodburn police say the cases are not related.
