Two men were arrested and charged Wednesday with burglarizing a Silverton home after being caught on surveillance video.

Lawrence Hammond, 33, and Eugene Schott, 53, were arrested after a resident in the 2600 block of Drift Creek Road NE reported a man had broken into his home.

The resident, who was not home at the time, had a camera with a live feed and an alarm that alerted him to the break-in, according to Marion County Sheriff's deputies.

It is unknown what was stolen from the home, but the men were scared off by the alarms, according to Lt. Chris Baldridge with the sheriff's office.

By the time the deputies arrived, the men were gone, but deputies were able to capture images of one of the suspects and a silver Buick.

Deputies located the vehicle in the 8800 block of Silverton Road NE and arrested Hammond and Schott.

The men were taken to Marion County Jail and face first-degree burglary charges.
