Detectives seek public's help in unsolved 8-year-old homicide of a Keizer woman

Keizer detectives are asking for the public's help to solve an 8-year-old homicide case gone cold.

Christine Speten, 43, of Keizer, was discovered murdered inside her apartment  Feb. 14, 2011, at 1143 Orchard Court NE, according to Lt. Bob Trump, a spokesperson with the Keizer Police Department. 

"We wanted to generate some info about it," Trump said. "We're seeking any help from the public."

An autopsy conducted by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office revealed the manner of death was blunt force trauma to the head, as previously reported by the Statesman Journal. The weapon was not revealed.

Speten lived alone and had been at the complex at least 10 years, according to police and neighbors at the time.

Keizer authorities still decline to say whether they have suspects in the homicide.
