After two years on the lam, a Salem man has been arrested in connection to a 2017 shooting at a north Salem apartment complex.

Denny Herrera Rebolledo, 29, is a suspect in the Oct. 22, 2017, shooting death of Juan Diego Guerrero-Ceja at a complex on the corner of Market Street NE and Park Avenue NE.

Police released little information following the shooting, but two weeks later a grand jury indicted Rebolledo on one count of first-degree manslaughter with a firearm, two counts of illegal possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of tampering with a witness.

He is accused of causing Guerrero-Ceja's death and then trying to induce a witness to withhold testimony.

Rebolledo was previously convicted of dealing marijuana to a minor, dealing cocaine and endangering the welfare of a minor in 2012 and of first-degree theft and fourth-degree domestic violence assault in 2015 after he punched and beat his girlfriend. The victim told police Rebolledo strangled her in the past and threatened to kill her. She said she still believed he was capable of killing her.

Rebolledo was sentenced to seven days in jail and two years of supervised probation.

He was still on probation at the time of the shooting.

On the one-year anniversary of Guerrero-Ceja's shooting death, Salem police asked for the public's help locating Rebolledo.

Rebolledo was already being featured on the Salem Police Department’s Top Ten Most Wanted for outstanding warrants.

On the night of Sept. 10 — almost two years after the shooting — Klamath Falls police and a narcotics enforcement team took Rebolledo into custody at a Klamath Falls home.

He was taken to the Marion County jail Thursday, where he is being held without bail.

He was scheduled to appear for arraignment Friday afternoon.
