The NW Extreme Truck Challenge & Chicago Racing will pull into Sublimity June 23 and 24.

Get your motor runnin' for the NW Extreme Truck Challenge & Chicago Style Racing. The event, presented by Lone Entertainment, LLC, will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 23 and 24, at the Sublimity Harvest Festival Grounds. Drivers in modified rigs will compete for prize money in the fast-paced NW Extreme Truck Challenge, testing their skills for the fastest time on a course that includes boulders, jumps, a mud pit and a log obstacle.

This year adds side x sides competing in Chicago Style racing over jumps like the tuff trucks. Chicago Style racing is on an oval course with two drivers starting on opposite corners racing in the same direction for 1 1/2 to 2 laps. The runs will be timed to build a racing bracket.

'This is the second year we've done the Challenge and we're expecting about 25 competitors,” said Justin Barrett of Lone Entertainment. “We're also going to have a tuff truck class in the Chicago Style Racing for locals and amateurs.”

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. each day and the action begins with pit parties for close-up views of the vehicles and a chance to meet the drivers. Racing begins at 7 p.m. Food will be available on the grounds as well as beer for the older set and a kid zone with entertainment for the youngsters.

The kid zone will be free on Friday with an additional charge for rides on Saturday.

Barrett noted that there will be a $5 parking fee, $3 of which will go to the Stayton High School choir for an upcoming overseas trip. Choir staff and students will be overseeing the parking.

“I like to give back to the community whenever I can,” Barrett said.
