Sprague's Bridgette Smith wins Statesman Journal Athlete of the Week

BRIDGETTE SMITH, SPRAGUE VOLLEYBALL

Bridgette Smith was voted Athlete of the Week by Statesman Journal readers this week.

Smith helped the defending OSAA Class 6A state runner-up Olympians start the season 5-2 last week, with wins against Roseburg, North Medford, West Salem, Sandy and Barlow. She had 19 kills, four digs and two aces against Roseburg, with 19 kills, seven digs, three aces and one block against North Medford, and 25 kills, 18 digs, three aces and one block against West Salem.

PAIGE ALEXANDER, WEST SALEM SOCCER

Paige Alexander, West Salem High School

She helped the West Salem girls soccer team start 2-0 last week; she scored three goals in West Salem's 5-0 win against Wilsonville, and a goal and assist in the Titans' 3-0 win against Central Catholic.

HAYDEN ROTH, SILVERTON FOOTBALL

Hayden Roth, Silverton High School

Roth rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns in Silverton's 50-0 season-opening victory against Central. He also had three tackles on defense. 

JACOB HAGE, CASCADE FOOTBALL

Jacob Hage, Cascade High School

He completed 6 of 6 passes for 112 yards and one touchdown. He also had seven carries for 128 yards and three touchdowns in the Cougars' 55-6 win against Cottage Grove.
