Jordan McCarty of Silverton voted SJ Athlete of the Week

Jordan McCarty of Silverton has been voted the Statesman Journal's Athlete of the Week in an online poll of readers.

In Silverton's 34-21 win Friday against Corvallis, McCarty completed 10 of 18 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns, and he ran seven times for 35 yards and another two touchdowns. The Foxes are 5-0 this season.

OLIVIA MOYE, WEST SALEM

She ran a 19:00.43 to win her meet last week. Moye's season-best mark of 18:34.4 ranks her third in the highly competitive Mountain Valley Conference, and 14th in the state. 

Filiberto Alarcon, McKay High School.

FILIBERTO ALARCON, MCKAY

He had seven goals in McKay's first eight matches this season, and has helped the Royal Scots improve to 2-0 in the Mountain Valley Conference and 5-3-1 overall.

Elizabeth Hernandez, North Salem High School.

ELIZABETH HERNANDEZ, NORTH SALEM

She is a captain for the Vikings, and she scored two goals in North Salem's 3-2 win against Lebanon last week in the Mid-Willamette Conference opener.
