Woodburn sweeps soccer state titles

BOYS SOCCER: WOODBURN 1, STAYTON 0

Woodburn's boys soccer team beat Stayton to capture the OSAA Class 4A state championship. 

This is the fourth consecutive state title for the Bulldogs. 

Rodolfo Campuzano scored the goal for Woodburn. 

GIRLS SOCCER: WOODBURN 1, MARIST 0

Woodburn's girls soccer team beat Marist 1-0 on Saturday to capture the OSAA Class 4A state championship. 

It's the first state title in program history. 

Yahaira Rodriguez scored an unassisted goal in the first half, which was the only goal of the match. 

Carla Zamora had five saves for the Bulldogs in the victory.

KENNEDY 45, OAKLAND 7

Kennedy's football team advanced to the OSAA Class 2A state semifinals Saturday with a victory against Oakland.

The Trojans next will face Monroe at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hillsboro Stadium. The winner will advance to the state championship game. Kennedy is the defending state champion.

RAINIER 50, AMITY 22

Amity's season came to an end in the second round of the OSAA Class 3A state playoffs, with a loss to Rainier.

Amity finishes the season with an 8-3 record.

SANTIAM CHRISTIAN 58, VALE 6

Santiam Christian advanced to the OSAA Class 3A state semifinals with the victory against Vale. 

Santiam Christian next will face Burns on Saturday, time to be determined. The winner will advance to the state championship game.
