A man has died after being found in a serious condition in Stoke-on-Trent at the weekend.

Emergency services - including the Midlands Air Ambulance-  were called a medical emergency on Park Hall Road just after 10.30am on Sunday morning.

However nothing could be done to save the man and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said:  "We were called to reports of a medical emergency on Park Hall Road at 10.35am yesterday morning.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was in a serious condition.

"Ambulance staff administered advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts, it became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
