Armed police were called to a Stoke-on-Trent street after reports of a gun at a house.

Firearms officers attended Lewis Street in Stoke after being called at around 2.30pm on Monday afternoon (May 13).

A BB gun was seized from the property.

One eyewitness who contacted StokeonTrentLive reported a large police presence in the area for around an hour.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said:  "We received a report at around 2.35 pm yesterday reporting a firearm at a property on Lewis Street, Stoke-on-Trent.

"Armed police attended and searched the property and a BB gun was confiscated."
