Police have this evening arrested a person on suspicion of drugs offences - following complaints from people living in the area.

The arrest took place near Topgate Drive in Hanley earlier tonight (Thursday February 7).

Chief Inspector John Owen, of Staffordshire Police, said they would work to ensure concerns about drugs crime in the area were addressed.

On Twitter, he said:  "One under arrest for possession with intent to supply near to Topgate Drive, Hanley. Responding to recent complaints from local residents.

"All complainants visited by officers who will now keep focus on the location to ensure it's resolved."
