Drivers are being advised to find alternate routes as a busy North Staffordshire road is blocked following a two-vehicle crash.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A520 Leek Road in Cellarhead after the collision shortly before 7am.

The road is blocked in both directions from Heath Avenue in Cellarhead to Oaklands Close in Wetley Rocks.

A spokesman for traffic monitoring company Inrix said: "The A520 Leek Road is blocked in both directions and there is slow traffic in the area due to an accident involving two vehicles between Heath Avenue (Cellarhead) to Oaklands Close (Wetley Rocks)."
