THE LATEST CASES FROM STOKE-ON-TRENT CROWN COURT AND NORTH STAFFORDSHIRE JUSTICE CENTRE:

TUNSTALL: Forty-four-year-old Christopher Kirnon, of McKinley Street, Tunstall, was fined £120 after he pleaded guilty to possessing the class A drug cocaine and class B drug monkey dust on July 1. North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard police found the drugs on the defendant after forcing their way into a house. He had 2.52 grams of crack cocaine and two packages of monkey dust. Simon Dykes, mitigating, said the defendant was found with relatively modest quantities of the two drugs. As well as the fine, Kirnon must pay £185 costs and a £30 surcharge. Magistrates ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.

SILVERDALE: Shop thief Daniel Barker has been handed a 12-month community order. The 32-year-old admitted stealing a £10 case of Stella from the Co-op, in The Parade, Silverdale, on December 29. North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard the defendant, of High Street, Silverdale, is alcohol dependant and normally drinks three litres of cider a day. As part of the community order, Barker must complete a six-month alcohol treatment requirement. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay £135 costs, an £85 surcharge and £10 compensation.

BUCKNALL: Thirty-seven-year-old Michael Minor, of Newhouse Road, Bucknall, has pleaded guilty to two charges of criminal damage. He also denies a charge of assault by beating on December 23 and his trial for that alleged offence will be held at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on March 18. His bail was extended.

WESTON COYNEY: Twenty-five-year-old Jade Podmore has pleaded guilty to burglary at The Weathervane pub in Meir Park, on January 3. But she has denied a charge of criminal damage on December 19 and she will have a trial at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on March 11. The defendant, care of The Moat, Weston Coyney, was bailed.

AUDLEY: Thirty-one-year-old Ashley Cicatello, of Westfield Avenue, Audley, has denied a charge of assault by beating on December 26. His trial will be held at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on March 12 and his bail was extended.

BENTILEE: Twenty-four-year-old Daniel Bostock, of Dawlish Drive, Bentilee, has pleaded guilty to two offences of breaching a non-molestation order at Fenton in December. He will be sentenced at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on February 21, after a report is prepared on him by a probation officer. His bail was extended.

DRAYCOTT: Mark Newman, aged 43, of Chesterwood Road, Burslem, has pleaded guilty to a charge of assault by beating in Draycott on December 26. He will be sentenced at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on February 21 after a report is prepared on him by a probation officer. His bail was extended.

STONE: Thirty-six-year-old Edward Bourne, of Tunley Street, Stone, who is charged with arson being reckless as to whether the life of another person was endangered at Swynnerton on March 26, will appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on February 22.
