Police officers and paramedics descended on a Stoke-on-Trent street this evening due to an 'incident'.

StokeonTrentLive readers report nine police cars and four ambulances descended on Imperial Court, Hanley, at around 6.20pm.

But Staffordshire Police tonight refused to reveal why they were called to the street.

A spokesman said: "We are at an on-going incident that is under control."

One on-looker said: "We haven't any idea what happened."

We will bring you more as we get it.
