Paramedics are this afternoon treating a pedestrian after he was struck by a car in a town centre crash.

The casualty - a man in his 60s - was involved in a collision with a Toyota Auris in Church Street, Stoke, this afternoon.

The condition of the pedestrian is not yet known.

Now Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following this afternoon's incident.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called to the scene of a road traffic collision on Church Street at around 2.05pm today.

"Colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service are currently at the scene and are assessing the man."

A paramedic officer and an ambulance have been dispatched to the scene.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "We have received reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian. We have an ambulance and paramedic officer at the scene treating one man."

Witnesses should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 336 of December 5.
