Firefighters were called to a Stoke-on-Trent property after a dishwasher caught fire this morning.

A crew from Sandyford were called to Silverstone Crescent in Packmoor shortly before 9am this morning to reports the dishwasher caught fire in a shed.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called at 8.57am to an accidental ignition of dishwasher in a garage of a property on Silverstone Crescent.

"One appliance from Sandyford attended and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire in the garage of the property with a hose reel jet.

"No one was hurt in the incident"
