Police are investigating after two arson attacks in the same Stoke-on-Trent street.

Firefighters were called to Parsonage Street, Tunstall, after smoke could be seen billowing in the area at around 11am this morning (May 19).

They discovered a shed had been set alight and further investigations found a wheelie bin in the same alleyway had also gone up in flames.

Both fires are believed to be deliberate and the details have now been passed on to the police.

An eye-witness told StokeonTrentLive: "There was thick black smoke in the area. It's the fourth fire that I'm aware of since Monday, including one in Bond Street. It's getting ridiculous now."

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called to a shed fire in Parsonage Street, Tunstall, at around 11am. We then found a wheelie bin had also been set alight.

"The cause of the fires have not yet been established but they are believed to be deliberate."

Crews from Sandyford and Hanley attended the incidents and remains at the scene for just over two hours.
