This is all that remains of a car windscreen after it was smashed by a brick-throwing pedestrian.

The victim of the road-rage incident has released a picture of his damaged vehicle after CCTV footage of the attack emerged.

It has also been revealed that the driver's two children - aged just one and two - were in the back of the vehicle at the time of the incident.

In a post on StokeonTrentLive's Facebook page, their grandmother said: "The police have got a name for the man and the evidence. My granddaughters could have been seriously injured if that brick had hit them."

The driver added: "This was the damage caused to my vehicle when the first brick was thrown. The police are also getting CCTV from a local shop."

The footage was recorded in Kempthorne Road, Joiners Square, on the afternoon of Sunday, May 12.

It records the thud of one brick hitting the back window of the vehicle before a second brick is thrown at the front window as the driver turns around and tries to head towards Leek Road.

Staffordshire Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the incident. Anyone with any information should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 359 of May 12.
