Police are currently at the scene of a three-vehicle crash in Stoke-on-Trent.

Emergency services were alerted to the collision in High Lane, Burslem, at around 9.40pm.

One side of the road  between Hamil Road and Penrhyn Avenue has been coned off and two patrol cars are at the scene while officers investigate.

It is not believed anyone has been seriously hurt as no ambulances have attended.

However, an eye-witness told StokeonTrentLive: "It looks like there are three cars and two are pretty bad.

"There’s a white car that’s been driven to one side out of the way with a very smashed up back end, a silver BMW and another silver car. They both look like write offs.

"Thankfully it doesn’t look like any casualties. There’s no ambulance do I don't think is hurt, there's just three very battered cars and one side of the road is closed off with cones but they're waving traffic through."

StokeonTrentLive is awaiting an update from Staffordshire Police.

But traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "High Lane in both directions is closed due to accident, between Hamil Road and Penrhyn Avenue. Traffic is coping well. Police are at scene."
