Two people have been arrested after police were called to a fight outside a workingmens club in North Staffordshire this evening (Wednesday February 20).

A number of eyewitnesses contacted StokeonTrentLive after around 12 police cars were seen outside Bradwell Workingmens Club on Bradwell Lane, Bradwell at around 7.30pm tonight.

Staffordshire Police have confirmed two arrests were made following the incident, which they say involved up to ten people.

A spokeswoman said:  "We were called at 7.30pm to reports of an assault at Bradwell Workingmens Club in Bradwell involving a group of up to ten men.

"Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

"A 34-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of affray.

"A 28-year-man, also from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of common assault."

A status posted on the club's Facebook page said the disturbance had taken place following a function at the venue - and that such incidents were not common.

They added:  "Luckily Staffordshire Police were quick to arrest those that needed it and moved everyone else off the car park.

"We are lucky to not have anything like this happen too often."
