Police descended on a Stoke-on-Trent street this evening after a mass brawl erupted outside a church.

Dozens of officers were dispatched to High Street, Goldenhill, shortly before 7pm this evening after a fight, believed to involve around 20 to 30 men, broke out.

Two men have now been arrested following the incident, while more uniformed police officers will patrol the area this evening to reassure members of the public.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: "Officers are currently in attendance in the Goldenhill area following reports of disorder.

"We were initially called to reports of a fight involving around 20 to 30 men in High Street just before 7pm this evening, and patrols have been stepped up in the area as groups dispersed.

"Two men have been arrested in relation to this matter and high visibility patrols will remain in the area as we investigate the incident.
