A busy Stoke-on-Trent road has fully reopened after an accident involving a taxi this evening.

Police and paramedics were called to Shelton New Road in Etruria at around 4.20pm.

The road has now reopened.

Inrix, the traffic data company, reports police are awaiting recovery at the scene of the accident, near the A500.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said on Twitter: "Long tailbacks both directions on Shelton New Road in Stoke-on-Trent due to earlier RTC. Road has just reopened."
